Easter Canoe Egg Hunt FAQs
Everything you need to know before your family paddle.
What is the Easter Canoe Egg Hunt?
Itâs a relaxed, instructor-led family canoe session with an Easter twist. Youâll get used to the boats and kit near base, take a short journey down the river, stop for an Easter egg hunt in the woods, then paddle back together. Itâs about exploring, working as a team and enjoying time outdoors.
What age is it suitable for?
Suitable for ages 8 and over. All children must be accompanied by a participating adult. We regularly welcome children, parents and grandparents paddling together.
Do we need canoeing experience?
No experience is required. Weâll show you how to paddle, steer and work as a team before heading off. The pace is steady and supportive, making it ideal for families with mixed confidence levels.
What kind of boats do we use?
We use stable open canoes in 2, 3 and 4 seater boats. Families paddle together in the same canoe wherever possible.
What should we wear?
Wear comfortable outdoor clothing that you donât mind getting slightly wet. Trainers or secure footwear are ideal. Bring a full change of clothes for everyone (not just children), just in case. In cooler weather, extra layers are recommended.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We run sessions in the rain and typical spring conditions â it all adds to the adventure. If river or wind conditions are unsuitable, we will contact you to rearrange or cancel. Safety always comes first.
Will we be in a private group?
Youâll be joining other families and members of the public, usually forming a group of around 12â14 participants. We structure the session so everyone has space on the water while enjoying the shared experience.
Where does it take place?
Weâre based near Beaulieu in the New Forest with parking, toilets and changing facilities on site, making it easy to plan a full family day out.
