Requesting Activities during Winter
So in New Forest activities, we're now moving into the winter period. We schedule a much lighter number of activities at this time of year. You've got winter paddling and winter archery. These are really great sessions for families and couples. They come at really great price to encourage people into the great outdoors, and they happen pretty much every weekend and then occasionally midweek, and we can always do it on demand also. Very popular is the battle zone. You'll find that running pretty much every single Saturday, perfect for birthday parties or groups, anybody really that wants to join in and get muddy in the woods. So in terms of flexibility, we've got this new feature now where you can request an activity. What you do is you fill out the details, give your details, the session that you'd like, and allow us to contact you. And then as long as you've got four people, we can pretty much put on most of activities on demand as long as we've got enough notice. So it's a really great way for you to easily access what we do without relying on on the schedule. We can fit around you effectively. Probably wanna make sure you give us at least a week's notice. Obviously, the longer the better, the more likely we are to be able to find the staff member and to to put the session on for you. We do require a minimum of four book four people to make the booking worthwhile. But then once we've got that booking, we will likely open that session up to other people. Sessions still tend to be quite quiet compared to their summer sort of counterparts, but they're in no way exclusive sessions. We can provide a private session, but then we need to have a conversation with you about who it's for, what your objectives are, and cost it accordingly. But larger groups of eight to twelve, you'll probably find it's just for you anyway. So finally, obviously over the winter, some people are asking questions around what do we do around wet weather? What do do around cancellations? So the same is still true as it is all year round. If it's dangerous or unsuitable and we can't deliver something that's gonna be fun and meaningful, we will have to cancel the session and you'll get either a full refund or you can rebook onto another date. If you choose to cancel the session, then really we can't do anything about that. We can't offer refunds if you don't turn up or if you're a no show. And it's really about wearing the right clothing and coming prepared for whatever the forecast is on that particular day. We still always, of course, have our satisfaction guarantee. So, you know, our staff are trained and they're prepared and they're ready to deliver regardless really of what the conditions are as long as they're safe. So as long as you wrap up warm and you come out and you show up and you go on the water or do the archery session, if you don't enjoy it, you still qualify for our satisfaction guarantee and we will refund you if we've let you down and not delivered that fun and meaningful session. So there really is no risk. It's fun or money back. And obviously if the weather's no good and we have to cancel, we get money back as well. So, you know, we're really passionate about what we do, making sure it's high quality and making sure that really, regardless of the weather conditions, you still have fun in the great outdoors.

Are You Open During Winter?
Throughout the winter season, we are running a lighter number of activities, including our winter archery and winter paddling sessions most weekends. A slight reduction in demand means that you will likely benefit from quieter sessions, as well as our off-peak pricing. Most Saturdays, we’re also hosting a number of BattleZone sessions, perfect for groups that are looking for a muddy adventure in Hampshire this winter!
Can I Choose a specific Date and Time for my Activity?
If you’re after an activity that doesn’t quite fit into our fixed schedule, our new feature may just be what you’re looking for. Request An Activity is an easy way for you to get in contact with us, to request a specific session for you and your party. It’s as easy as filling out a form with the basic details of your desired session, and we will get in touch! As long as the session is for four or more people, and we have at least a week’s notice, we’ll likely be able to meet your request! Whether you’re after a cosy bushcraft morning, or an action-packed BattleZone experience, we’d love to facilitate your outdoor adventure down here in the south of England this winter.
If the requested session is viable and we are able to run it, it then becomes an open session, meaning other people are able to book on. Although for most of our adventures, if you book for 8-12 people, this will fill the session, meaning only members of your party will be there. If you’re after a private session, please get in touch, and we can talk numbers, objectives and pricing.
What Happens if it's Raining?
At this time of year, we often get many questions about wet weather, and how this will impact the session’s viability. The short answer is: it won’t! Our activities are safe in most conditions, and our qualified instructors are well-trained in providing safe and fun experiences come rain or shine. However, in particularly dangerous conditions, such as extremely high winds or electric storms, we may have to cancel. In this case, we will issue a full refund, or look at rebooking the activity to a later date.
Even during particularly cold or wet weather, our instructors will do everything to ensure you have a great time- we often find people are surprised with just how much they enjoy a session in undesirable weather! However, if we fail to provide an experience that is fun and meaningful, our satisfaction guarantee has you covered. So with either a great experience or your money back, what’s to lose?!
