School Trip FAQ’s
Is there a shop on-site where we can purchase items?
There is a small on-site organic shop which is able to supply a limited stock of fresh and organic vegetables, meat produce and ice-creams. It would be useful for milk and small quantities of bread. It is, however, quite expensive and has standard opening times, e.g. 09:00 – 17:00.

Tesco & Fuel: Sizer Way, Dibden Purlieu, SO45 5JA (15 mins drive)
Tesco & Fuel: Beaulieu Rd, Dibden Purlieu, SO45 4JH (10 mins drive)
Both Tesco stores are on route for last minute purchases but do not have coach parking facilities.
Will there be somewhere to lock valuables?
Yes! You will have key coded access to the stores where you can charge phones, utilise fridges and store items and valuables.
Will there be facilities to charge phones and electronic devices?
We have a dedicated area with key coded access, where staff only will have access to sockets for charging. It is recommended that you bring a USB converter along with your charge lead.
Will there be WiFi on site?
WiFi will be accessible but reception will be limited to the area around the camping reception. There is good 4G service dependent on your provider.
Will there be someone on hand to help?
Yes! Our offices are onsite and will be staffed throughout normal office hours. Activities staff may also be on hand at our archery range. Out of hours’ provision can be arranged on request.
Do we need to clean our accommodation and shared areas at the end of our stay?
We clean so that all you have to do is settle in. To help though, we kindly request that accommodation is left as clean and tidy as you found it.
What happens to lost property?
Anything left behind will be taken and stored for a 2-week period. If it’s unclaimed it will be added to our supplies or be disposed of.
What if we break something?
Accidents do happen, so if something is broken or is not working as it should, please call into the camping reception in the first instance and we’ll send someone to assist.
If it’s out of hours we will have provided you with an out of hours contact name and number.
Damage due to incorrect use or malicious intent may incur a charge towards repair or replacement.
What happens if the weather is poor?
Generally, our camping and activities go ahead in all weathers (yes even in the rain!) The only time we will ever cancel is if there are particularly high winds or electrical storms which may pose a safety threat. We monitor the weather regularly but in the instance that we do need to cancel due to weather, we will give you plenty of notice to make arrangements to suit us both.
Our kit lists should help you plan your packing to cope with ‘the 4 seasons in a day’ weather conditions we can often experience, but get in touch if you need any more detail. Our bell tents have been specially designed to be off the ground too, so that you won’t find yourself sleeping in a puddle even if you need wellies once you’re outside!
What happens if we need to cancel?
a. All cancellations must be made by telephone (no answer phone messages will be accepted) or in writing sent either by post or email. New Forest Activities Limited will acknowledge a cancellation within 5 days of receiving it. Until the customer has received confirmation the original booking remains valid.
b. Late arrivals and no shows constitute as a cancellation and will be treated as such. No refunds or re-bookings will be given.
c. The customer will be charged on the following basis:
i. Where group camping bookings have been made a non-refundable deposit applies. Bookings subject to these criteria are dealt with at the discretion of New Forest Activities Limited
ii. All bookings, courses and camping – you will pay 50% of the total fee where cancellation takes place within two weeks (14 days) of the booked date.
iii. All bookings, courses and camping – you will pay 75% of the total fee where cancellation takes place within one week (7 days) of the booked date
iv. All bookings, courses and camping – you will pay 100% of the total fee where cancellation takes place on or after the commencement date of the course
v. Changing course, camping or activity dates within 2 weeks of the original date booked will result in an admin fee being charged.
What happens if New Forest Activities cancel?
a. Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that courses/activities/camping actually run, New Forest Activities Limited may at times need to cancel due to dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions for the course/activity/camping. In this circumstance, we shall inform the customer as soon as is feasibly possible.
b. New Forest Activities Limited shall notify the customer of cancellation for the above stated reasons, and not less than five days prior to the commencement of the course where numbers as a result of either customer(s) cancellation or booked numbers have failed to reach a workable minimum.
c. In the event of a cancellation by New Forest Activities, customers will be offered the choice of a full refund.
